About

My project aims to bring awareness to the importance of gardening as therapy, the inclusion of people with disabilities, and wheelchair accessibility activities. I plan to increase awareness of these issues by designing and building a wheelchair-accessible raised garden bed at the Willing Warriors retreat in Haymarket, VA. This raised garden bed will provide the opportunity for disabled veterans and soldiers staying at the retreat to get outside and into the garden, learn how to grow their own vegetables, and have fun with their families while recovering from injuries they suffered while making the ultimate sacrifice and serving our country. By donating to my project, your donations will help me purchase needed materials such as cedar wood, organic gardening soil, compost, Landscape fabric, and many beautiful and health flowers and vegetable plants as well as any other needed materials to make this a successful garden for our disabled veterans.
